He did that like he’s seen a bird or two…..lol Nice job.
@winniegundog @winniegundog We got him from Sundance Kennels in Columbia MO. Now, my pointer does have some heart issues, (we cannot hunt him anymore because of his heart murmur) but other than that, very active, happy and healthy for a 15 year old dog. Back in his day, he did a great job during field trials.
Thanks for commenting. 15 years old!! I will want to find your breeder. Our bloodline dosent seem to be living very long. Some neurological disorders have caused to put them down.
Thanks alot!! I truly appreciate every minute I get to hang with my little four legged buddy.
Thanks alot!!
Awsome video man ,, Dogs a champ we love em
im so lucky to be able to hunt behind a couple of these dogs, but the vid was real fun to watch, Its real cool to see the bird all locked up. good job
Really enjoyed your video-Winnie is a great dog! Check out my Oscar English Pointer video that I’ve posted-I think you may enjoy it as well!
Thanks alot!!!! I am praying for one more year. Don’t want a puppy so soon!
Thanks for commenting. Sometimes a good day of wearing out your dog is god enough. A shock collar will do wonders. Your dog wants you to be happy. Good luck!!
Pretty incredible. Wish mine was that good.
DAm Winnie rullllllls
Thanks for commenting. It was really hard to video knowing that you might miss the bird just to get a good shot.
Thanks alot for commenting. Been real busy this year fixing heating systems. Havnt had a chance to reply.
I walk up behind the dog and shes supposed to hold and let me flush the bird. This is something that we never really trained for. That is why she would not be a good field trial dog. My Fault
Thanks for commenting. She is a happy girl when outdoors for sure
I can use all the help i can get. Mabey I will get one for my birthday.
Thanks
Thanks alot!! Hope to get another year out of her. Take better care of her than my two kids.
Thats really cool!! Give Deuce a pat on the head for me.
Thanks for commenting. Very Nice.
@cashstore1 yes agree totally
As I sat in front of the computer screen watching this video, my shorthair Deuce came over as he recognized the sound of the bell. He sat next to me and watched the video with great interest. He cocked his head to the side as he always does when he is very interested in things.
He and I went Pheasant hunting many times before we moved to Arizona and he hunted much like your dog. The breed is amazing!
@phoenix1916 Very true! I have hunted with springers and pointers at the same time. They work well in combination. Often the pointer will point in the thick brush and then you get ready for the bird as the springer goes in there and flushes it. Overall I prefer the pointer, but a good flushing dog has a place in the thick brush. I think it’s more of a hunters preference, as I enjoy watching both dogs work.
@phoenix1916 where do u hunt? because around here it gets really cold and they are not a good duck dog my uncle has had 4 of em and he even told me they aint good duck dogs
they are an all round dog i tell u i hunt all game with them????????
